ANC 2A Announces Election of Evelyn Hudson for 2A05

    November 20, 2019

Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2A is pleased to announce that Evelyn Hudson, a Foggy Bottom resident, has been elected as the next commissioner for single member district 2A05. Evelyn will be filling the vacancy that was created after former Commissioner Phil Schrefer resigned from the seat earlier this year. Evelyn first submitted petitions to the DC Board of Elections to fill the vacancy on September 23rd, and after the successful end of the public review period for the petitions, the Board of Elections announced that Evelyn will officially be a member of ANC 2A. She was sworn in by Ward 2 Councilmember Jack Evans earlier today.

Evelyn was born in Lynchburg, VA before moving to Brooklyn, NY. In New York she attended PS 193 and Somers Junior High School and graduated from Hunter College. She later attended St. John's University for Special Education and served as a special education teacher in New York City intermittently from 1979 to 2001. She moved to Washington, DC in 2001 and taught Head Start special education at Park View Elementary School in northwest DC and Ferebee-Hope Elementary School in southeast DC until 2005. She currently lives at St. Mary’s Court in Foggy Bottom.
