Information on ANC 2A Hearings for Fall 2016 Alcohol License Renewals
As some of you might have seen from ANC 2A’s regular October meeting agenda, the ANC will begin considering a series of alcohol license renewals during next Thursday’s meeting. The Alcoholic Beverage Regulation Administration (ABRA) required all tavern and nightclub license holders to apply for renewal by September 30th, 2016. Due to the fact that ANC 2A contains several tavern and nightclub licenses, the ANC will set aside time during several upcoming regular meetings in order to consider the renewal of licenses.
The alcohol license renewal process is a critical time for the ANC to ensure that establishments are following the rules and being good neighbors. The process allows for the ANC to work with individual establishments to address any concerns from their neighbors. Community members are thus encouraged to attend the ANC’s meetings where renewals are being considered and to voice concerns about any individual establishments that are up for renewal.
I have created a list of the establishments whose license renewals will be considered during the ANC’s regular October meeting next week. The list can be found below:
There will be time set aside for community members to raise any concerns regarding the establishments included in the above list during next week’s meeting.
As a reminder, the ANC’s regular October meeting will be next Thursday, October 20th at 7:00 pm in room 220 of GW's Funger Hall, 2201 G Street NW. A copy of the meeting agenda can be found here.
Additionally, more information on the 2016 alcohol license renewal process can be found here.
Please let chair Patrick Kennedy or I know if you have any questions about this matter. We look forward to seeing you next week!
